Differences between "MUCH", "MANY", and "A LOT".
Here are some general rules:
"Many" is used with countable plural nouns like boxes, wolves, or strawberries.
- There are so many boxes here.
- There are many wolves and other wildlife in this area.
- There are so many strawberries to pick today.
"Much" can only be used with uncountable nouns like water, sugar, or luck.
- How much water can you drink?
- How much sugar is in the recipe?
- I haven't had much luck.
"A lot" can be used with both, countable and uncountable nouns.
- There are a lot of boxes in the back.
- There are a lot of wolves and other wildlife in this area.
- There are a lot of strawberries to pick today.
- You should drink a lot of water.
