Writer’s Note

“Are you free to talk” can also mean that you are asking someone if they are available to communicate. It can be via phone or video call, messaging, or face-to-face. It’s very common to use this sentence in the workplace but also within interpersonal relationships. Try it out! Call a friend and ask them if they are free to talk. Ask your closest family member if they are free to talk. See how they answer differently or the same?
